Abhishek is an accomplished lawyer in India, specializing in infrastructure laws, energy, maritime, competition law, and commercial law. He is a trusted legal advisor to multinationals and major Indian corporates, guiding energy producers on project development, finance, regulatory compliance, and strategic legal frameworks.

Abhishek has extensive experience in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution across multiple sectors, including energy law across both conventional and non-conventional sectors, maritime, competition law, constitutional law, and infrastructure law. He has led high-profile cases, including representing clients before the Full Bench of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court concerning the interpretation of Section 56(2) of the Electricity Act, 2003, where his interpretation was accepted. He has also served as lead counsel and advisor for Maharashtra’s first Municipal Solid Waste to Energy Project, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in 2023. Additionally, he has provided counsel for a 7,000 MW Solar project under the PM KUSUM Scheme in Maharashtra.

Abhishek has represented major energy companies, including advising on large-scale projects and disputes. Notably, he has acted as second-seat counsel in SIAC arbitration for ultra-mega power plants, handling multi-million-dollar claims against EPC contractors for active concealment and defective product claims. His experience also includes representing an air conditioning company in arbitration for a Rs. 65 Crore dispute and successfully defending MSEDCL in GST-related matters involving solar power EPC, saving over Rs. 35 Crores for the utility.

His expertise extends to advising on a range of legal matters, from representing clients in telecom infrastructure disputes to handling cross-border arbitration. He has acted as counsel for various international clients, including a major global chartering company in arbitration with Steel Authority of India (S.A.I.L.) and a pharmaceutical MNC in a matter before the American Arbitration Association. He has also represented power companies in tariff-related disputes before multiple forums, including the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC).
Abhishek’s work spans across environmental law, where he has represented entities before the National Green Tribunal, and competition law, including filing significant actions before the Competition Commission of India against the abuse of dominance by Coal India. He has also represented several companies in cartel investigations in the cement and conveyor belts sectors.

In the maritime industry, he has been involved in the arrest and sale of vessels operating in Indian territorial waters, resolving issues related to seamen’s wages and working conditions.

He has advised and represented clients in a wide variety of energy-related matters, including disputes arising from power purchase agreements (PPAs), tariff issues, and renewable energy certificates. His work has involved advising both state utilities and private power producers in matters relating to cross-subsidy surcharges, open access issues, and tariff challenges. Abhishek has also been involved in maritime and shipping industry disputes, including drafting legal documents like charter party agreements and resolving supplier claims related to essential commodities.

Abhishek’s dedication and legal acumen have earned him recognition as a "Young Turk" by The Economic Times, a leading financial daily of India, for the field of law, and recently nominated for the prestigious Young Achievers Award 2015 by LegalEra, a leading legal journal in India.
